Yarrow Tincture
A must have for your medicine cabinet! If I had access to only 3 plants, Yarrow would HANDS DOWN be 1 of them. Yarrow has so many uses! I keep a tincture bottle of Yarrow in our first aid kit and she gets much use.
Yarrow aids in the expression of a fever. Meaning, Yarrow won’t make a fever “go away” (in other words - suppress it), rather she supports your body in the beautiful work of expressing it and moving it through your system quicker and with more ease. Yarrow helps bring the heat from the internal to the external by opening the pores, encourages sweating and supports circulation, easing pain and discomfort that accompanies a fever.
Yarrow is an ally for boundaries both energetically and physically. Yarrow is historically used as a flower essence to support you on the journey of creating loving boundaries. Yarrow works similarly on the physical body. Yarrow works to knit the skin after a cut/wound, and is excellent at stopping bleeding. Whenever my kiddos get a cut, I apply Yarrow tincture to a sterile bandage which helps stop the bleeding, knit the skin as well as acts as an antimicrobial to prevent infection.
Yarrow has also historically been used for gastrointestinal upset as well as for cold/flu.
Uses: Fever, Wounds (internal and external), Bleeding, Sore Throat, Pain, Gastrointestinal Upset (nausea, indigestion, diarrhea, acid reflux), Menstrual Cramps, Bug Bites, Antimicrobial, Headache, Cold/Flu.
Dose: Take 1-2 dropperful as needed for symptoms. I will add a few drops of Yarrow tincture to a sterile bandage and apply to cuts/wounds/bleeding.
